Our Coaches
The Cliff Drysdale Tennis philosophy embraces the development of the whole athlete. Our Tennis Academy's specialized programs are a careful balance of technical, tactical, mental and physical training. Our expert coaching staff is dedicated to the instruction, development and success of each athlete.
Daniel Lopez
Coach Daniel is the Director of Tennis for the Santa Ana Country Club, and an internationally experienced teaching professional and tennis management leader.
Originally from Mexico, Coach Daniel was a nationally ranked Top 10 junior, and went on to play collegiate tennis in the US before playing professionally on the ITF circuit throughout North America and the Caribbean.
He began coaching with Cliff Drysdale Tennis in 2014, and has held Director positions at various luxury tennis resorts and academies in the US (Florida, New York), New Zealand and Mexico before opening the tennis program at Santa Ana Country Club.
Jose Carlos Hidalgo
A former captain of the Davis Cup National team of Costa Rica, Coach JC has been one of the top tennis development professionals in all of Central America for over two decades.
Jose has produced the #1 player in Costa Rica 8 out of the last 11 years, showing a consistent ability to lead players to success.
Jose was caption of the Costa Rican Davis Cup team from 2009- 2012, and has been the head coach of many ITF ranked junior players, including at the prestigious Copa del Cafe, the largest junior tournament in Costa Rica.
Jose previously served at the Academy Director at the Tennis Valle De Sol for over 20 years. His world class program has received praise for it's clear commitment to develop players through preparation, motivation and technical improvment.

In addition to our on-site academy staff, all Santa Ana High Performance Academy players are supported and mentored by the CDT Performance Team, a group of 10 experts in player development stationed at prestigious tennis clubs and academies across the nation. These mental, physical, tactical and technical professionals often provide in person and/or virtual training for our players, providing a well-rounded foundation for success.
